What are some centers for women’s health/family planning?

I am looking to get involved and volunteer with an organization that does outreach work for family planning and women’s reproductive health/rights but am having trouble locating one. I am looking for organizations that are NGO’s and may have a more liberal outlook on women’s reproductive rights than a government-sponsored organization.

I am in Metro Manila……..
I am looking for a center that specializes in women’s reproductive health and rights as well as family planning. These things do not always equal abortion clinic. I prefer to stay away from a government organization as thier ideas are quite different than mine in terms of progressiveness.

Currently Planned Parenthood does not have an office here, however I did email their regional office. I am looking for centers that could use additional help with outreach and education. I will check out the Philippine DOH and see which organizations they can suggest.

How To Conquer Exercise Equipment Boredom

Can you remember how excited you were when you got your new and shiny exercise equipment? You were so wrapped up with it all you promised yourself you would use it every single day. But it did not take long for you to be sick and tired of pedaling or walking and getting nowhere and the very thought of exercising now fills you with dread. Well, do not despair. There are ways to make your workouts more interesting and here are a few tips of how to do just that.

First of all, put some music on. This will help to raise your enthusiasm. Let’s face it, there is nothing like an upbeat tune to get you moving. You can always warm up and cool down to slow tunes and build up to a crescendo for the main part of your training. For a variation of music simply listen to your favorite CD or tune into your local radio station.

If music is really not your thing you could try audio books. They can be a great way to pass the time whilst exercising. You never know, you may even begin to look forward to your exercising sessions if you are really enjoying the book!

Another way to get on with your workout is to watch the television at the same time. Exercise whilst watching your favorite show or stop and start a movie over a period of a few days and you will soon settle down to regular workouts again. A good idea is to make the TV out of limits except for when you are exercising - this is sure to give you the motivation you need.

You can use the time during your fitness regime to catch you on your phone calls. Of course, you would need to wear a head set to do this. It also helps if the person on the other end of the phone knows you are exercising - just so they know what all the heavy breathing is about!

If you are fortunate enough to have a great view from the windows of your house, then why not do your workout in a position where you can gaze outside? Looking at the scenery or watching the wildlife is sure to distract you from the tedium of exercise.

While you are performing your exercise, try a little meditation. Focus on your body and clear your mind. You will appreciate the way you move more and become aware of your form. Exercising your body and your mind at the same time has great benefits.

Your workout is a great time for brainstorming. Make a note on paper (but not whilst you are on the treadmill, obviously!) of any ideas which come to mind about things you need to do or solutions to current problems you are facing.

There are specially designed desks available to accommodate your laptop whilst using exercising equipment and although you would probably not be able to do much typing, you could do tasks such as checking your emails or looking at websites.

So, there is no reason to allow your exercise equipment to become obsolete because you are bored with it. It’s up to you to make your workouts interesting once more.

One of the most important aspects of an in line skate is the foot bed, especially when it comes to comfort. Top of the line foot beds are usually either made from some type of biomechanical technology or they are custom molded.

The two things that affect the performance of the skate the most are the wheels and bearings. These two pieces of equipment have grading classifications that are internationally recognized, and these classifications are the best knowledge you can have when going to purchase in line skates. Avoid any wheels that are soft and cheap, as these will not roll right. The hardness of a wheel is measured by a durometer. The numbers for the durometer range anywhere from 74 to 100, and the higher that the number is, the harder that the wheel is. The most popular wheel hardness is 78A. Good bearings should be silent and spin freely. Always make sure to inspect your skates before and after each use for any problems or spots that need maintenance.

Do you believe that men’s health issues are as important as women’s health issues?

I think that the answer is no they are not as important. From a biological perspective males have really only two functions; provide sperm for reproduction and protection for females with offspring. Once they start to decline than both those functions can be taken over by younger stronger males and there is no incentive to keep them alive. Older females on the other hand still contribute to the group welfare.
Women are more social than men and often take an interest in their health and the health of their children. Men on the other hand take an interest in sports, sex, and (can’t think of anything else lol lol). Now of course there are men who are in a committed family relationship (such as my father) and contribute to the well being of their loved ones in many different ways. Thesemen have wives,daughters, and mothers who are deeplyconcerned for their well being and health, but without support they would show little interest in their own health.
